Austin Schantz was born and raised in the small town of Washington, Iowa and is currently a sophomore in aerospace engineering at Iowa State University. Austin spent the spring and summer of 2008 teaching helicopters to fly-a elegant way of saying "computer programming"-as an intern for Rockwelll-Collins in Cedar Rapids. Austin hopes his experience at Rockwell will eventually lead to designing aircraft for a company like Boeing.

Austin decided to become a DJ because he liked the idea of helping people have a good time and creating a high-energy atmosphere. Adding to his experience as an entertainer, Austin has played in several bands, sang in more than his fair share of vocal ensembles and joined the ranks of his high school drama team as an actor and backstage techie.

Austin's favorite food is Chinese Sesame Chicken. Anything with Harrison Ford or Catherine Zeta Jones is a good movie by him. When he doesn't have an audience affecting his music selections, he enjoys listening to heavy rock, pop, alternative and some oldies.

In his free time, Austin likes football or basketball and a little bit of trumpet practice. Sorry, ladies, Austin has a girlfriend - but he swears he won't be getting married for a long time. After all, he still wishes he could play with LEGOs and not take any flak.
